It is a non-profit association dedicated to the active and dynamic generation of the digital corpus of Basque, connected to the European framework of digital linguistic resources.

To reduce the gap between languages ​​with abundant linguistic resources and those without, since languages ​​unable to access the rapid evolution of digital technologies on equal terms with majority languages ​​risk de facto extinction, Euskorpora promotes and ensures the digital presence of Basque through the active and methodical generation of the Digital Corpus of Basque.

The corpus will be at the service of the digital transformation of companies, administration and society.

At Euskorpora, we have partners and collaborators. You can find a form on our website to request more information. Any entity, company, agent of the Basque network, or other organization wishing to learn more about the role of each partner can contact us to find out how to proceed.

The association remains open to new partners and collaborators who wish to contribute to the development of the Basque digital resource, adhering to the necessary quality and legal standards. The goal of participating in the association is to contribute to creating solutions that reach the market and are relevant to people’s daily lives.

It is the General Assembly, in which the members participate and validate the Euskorpora Strategic Plan.

To be able to introduce Basque into new artificial intelligence developments available to society and to put it at the service of companies that want to include Basque in their ordinary management tools and/or communication-relationship with society, their clients and stakeholders.

Collaborations must be numerous and varied. We need companies from different value chains (industry, energy, health, food, etc.),
public institutions (justice, health, education, etc.), agents from the Basque network specializing in R&D&I (universities, technology centers, etc.), labeling and transcription companies, AI model development companies, translation companies, dissemination agents, and more.

A digital corpus is a structured collection of texts—written, oral, or multimodal—in digital format. Creating one requires gathering data from various sources (science, law, health, industry, etc.). Once the data is obtained and converted to standard formats, it must be tagged, metadata (date, author, source), and linguistic annotations added. When the texts are properly tagged, a catalog is created where the data is classified by thematic categories, tags, relationships between texts, and so on. All of this is done with the appropriate permissions that respect intellectual property rights, privacy, and anonymization.
