About the Workshop
The increasing relevance of artificial intelligence in language technologies raises critical challenges for digital language sovereignty, particularly for low-resource languages. This workshop brings together key stakeholders from Euskadi (Basque Country)and Finland to exchange knowledge, align strategies, and foster collaboration.
The programme is structured around three complementary dimensions:
- Strategic: public policy, national AI and language strategies, and infrastructures
- Scientific and technological: research on AI, language models, and corpora
- Industrial and applied: real-world use cases, industry perspectives, and knowledge transfer
The workshop aims to promote cross-regional collaboration, identify synergies, and explore opportunities for joint initiatives at the European level.
The event is targeted at researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and practitioners in AI and language technologies. It will be held in English and offered in a hybrid format (on-site and online participation).
