Yesterday, October 14th, Leire Barañano, Director General of Euskorpora, was invited to present our work, our nature, our objectives, and our framework at an event organized by the European Language Data Space (LDS) and the European Commission (EC), in collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), in Barcelona.

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to learn in depth about the different initiatives currently underway in the European sphere. We also had the opportunity to hear firsthand presentations of work from other public bodies, companies, and research centers.

Being able to observe the work of other companies and organizations in this sector firsthand has shown us that we all face the same obstacles. Therefore, we must foster collaboration, thoroughly analyze market needs, and, among the various stakeholders, strive to create a high-quality digital corpus and address the diverse needs for its specific application.

At Euskorpora, we are on this path, in the process of generating data, identifying the needs of the different value chains, and identifying and coordinating the knowledge and collaborations we will need to address them.

It is a challenge, and there is a great deal of work of different kinds ahead, but all areas are necessary: research, industry, administration, academia… and that is the path we are on.

It is an honor to be included in this series of international meetings, which promote European collaboration and allow us to reflect and learn together. Thank you for recognizing the work we do at Euskorpora and the ecosystem we are shaping.
