The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa will make its data and content corpora available to Euskorpora and HiTZ Zentroa with the aim of integrating Basque into artificial intelligence technologies. This collaboration was formalized this morning with the signing of an agreement between the Provincial Deputy and representatives of both entities, reinforcing the institutional commitment to the digital future of the language.
Through this agreement, the Provincial Council will strategically contribute to Euskorpora’s Euskorpus project. This initiative aims to create a robust digital corpus of audio and text that will allow for the development of open-source models and solutions adapted to the needs of the public and private sectors.
The Provincial Council’s participation will facilitate progress in the collection and transformation of high-quality content, essential for training technologies such as automatic transcription and advanced translation. This alliance is key to guaranteeing the technological sovereignty of Basque and consolidating a competitive and leading digital ecosystem in the field of artificial intelligence.
