Euskorpora was invited to participate in the annual General Assembly of Labayru Fundazioa, an institution founded in 1977 with the aim of researching, promoting, and disseminating the Basque language and culture. The event brought together more than 100 people interested in the present and future of Basque.
The meeting took place on April 7th, during which Leire Barañano, Director General of Euskorpora, presented the initiative, its mission, objectives, network of partners, and the actions it is undertaking to strengthen the presence of Basque in the digital age. She also addressed the main challenges and opportunities facing Basque in the context of the increasing digitalization of society, highlighting the importance of meeting the needs of both the business and institutional sectors, and of taking advantage of the opportunities offered by generating models through artificial intelligence for the development of a robust technological and industrial ecosystem around Basque.
“Opportunities are key,” Barañano emphasized. “We are well-positioned, we have a very robust ecosystem, and we have a clear path forward.”
Igone Etxebarria, director of Labayru Fundazioa, highlighted the importance of these collaborations for advancing the promotion of Basque.
Euskorpora’s participation in this event reaffirms its commitment to linguistic and technological innovation, and its role as a key player in building a digital future in Basque.
